Minecraft Player Imagines Waterproof Redstone Dust Concept
#1
A creative Minecraft player has shared an intriguing concept showing what it would be like if redstone dust were waterproof. Minecraft features an impressive range of blocks, but few stand out as much as Redstone. When transformed into dust, Redstone becomes an essential item for automating builds, often leading to impressive projects.

Creating Redstone contraptions is a favorite activity within the Minecraft community. These contraptions can range from bubble elevators and automated piston doors to x-ray machines, Redstone computers, and even a playable version of Minesweeper. However, Redstone dust has a significant limitation: it cannot be placed underwater without mods. A Minecraft fan has proposed a creative solution to this restriction.

Reddit user klight101 shared an inventive concept for waterproof Redstone dust. In their idea, Minecraft players would use a Grindstone to turn one copper ingot into four coppered dust. By combining one coppered dust with one Redstone dust on the crafting table, players would create an item called coppered Redstone dust. This upgraded Redstone dust would be waterproof but would oxidize over time, gradually reducing the strength of the signal. To prevent this, players could combine honeycomb with coppered Redstone dust on the crafting table to make it waxed.

The idea of waterproof Redstone dust sparked a lively debate among Minecraft players. One Redditor suggested combining copper ingots and Redstone dust to create Redstone wire, which wouldn't oxidize and could climb walls. Another commenter envisioned wires made from Redstone and copper, with the former carrying the signal and the latter strengthening it. A third suggestion involved crafting wires from copper ingots, which would become waterproof when combined with dried kelp.

Klight101's concept highlights the endless creativity of the Minecraft community in expanding the game's possibilities. The vision of coppered Redstone dust could revolutionize circuit design by eliminating water as an obstacle. Additionally, it would provide a new use for the Grindstone, a block currently used to repair weapons, armor, and tools, and to remove enchantments from them.
