The title of the upcoming sequel to the Trigun reboot anime, which aired in Winter 2023, has been revealed. The sequel, titled "Trigun STARGAZE," was announced during the series' panel at Anime Expo 2024 on Friday.
Series creator Yasuhiro Nightow unveiled a brand-new illustration along with character visuals of Vash The Stampede, Millions Knives, and Nicholas D. Wolfwood. Here’s what we know about the upcoming second season of Studio Orange's Trigun STAMPEDE.
The Trigun reboot anime, produced by Orange, aired 25 years after the original series and was streamed on Crunchyroll during Winter 2023. The series ran for 13 episodes from January to March and combined elements from the original Trigun with aspects more aligned with the author's vision. Serving as a prequel to the major events of the 1998 anime, a sequel was announced after the final episode. Now, the second season is confirmed as Trigun STARGAZE, though no release date has been provided yet. Crunchyroll has announced they will stream the anime upon its release.

Trigun STAMPEDE is an adaptation of Yasuhiro Nightow's classic sci-fi manga, originally published in Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Shonen Captain magazine from March 1995 to December 1996, and later in Shōnen Gahosha's Young King OURs magazine as Trigun Maximum, which spanned 14 volumes. The 2023 series, directed by Kenji Mutō (episode director, Land of the Lustrous) at Studio Orange, featured updated character designs by Kōji Tajima (character design, GANTZ

The story of Trigun follows journalists Meryl Stryfe and her superior Roberto DeNiro as they investigate Vash The Stampede, a notorious outlaw with a massive bounty despite his pacifism. Their investigation leads them to Vash's sinister twin brother, Millions Knives. Although no release date for Trigun STARGAZE has been announced yet, fans eagerly await the continuation of this beloved series.
