Developer Arika has officially announced the 42nd Maximus Cup for Tetris 99, featuring a special Splatoon 3 theme inspired by the game's Side Order DLC. This event will kick off in just a few weeks, giving Tetris 99 players a chance to compete for unique in-game rewards.

The 42nd Maximus Cup is set to begin on Friday, August 16, at midnight PT and will run until 11:59 PM PT on Monday, August 19. This time, the event theme will be based on Splatoon 3's Side Order DLC, which was released earlier this year as part of the game's second wave of Expansion Pass content. During the event, players can earn a new Splatoon 3-themed in-game design by accumulating 100 event points.

Previously, the Maximus Cup in June featured a crossover with F-Zero 99, another popular Nintendo Switch Battle Royale game. For this upcoming event, however, players will have the chance to unlock a theme inspired by Splatoon 3's Side Order DLC. It’s important to note that participation in the Maximus Cup is exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
